Hosted by the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, participants include undergraduate and graduate students in medical, pharmacy, nursing, and other health profession programs as well as postdoctoral trainees in medicine, biomedical sciences, and clinical and translational sciences.

GOALS:

1) To involve faculty, medical, and graduate students in the process of presenting their research in either oral or poster presentations.

2)  To inform and involve the community about ongoing research at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

3) To encourage faculty, residents, and students to undertake clinical research relevant to West Virginia.

Uma Sundaram, MD, Conference Chair, Vice-Dean, Research and Graduate Education will hold the session to start off the 2023 Research Day. A multitude of students presented their research and findings to guests, researchers, faculty, and physicians. Then, Dr. Sundaram welcomed Dr. Lisa Cassis, Vice President of Research for the University of Kentucky, to present the keynote address focusing on her research in obesity and hypertension. At the closing of the event, the overall best project and presentation were awarded by Dr. Uma Sundaram.
